Interior view of a mill weaving shed.
The man to the left of centre stood by himself was John Hancock who died aged 69 around 1954.
He was involved with Guiseley AFC and a popular local singer.
His wife was Lucy Habishaw, daughter of Alfred Habishaw who was a coal merchant in Guiseley (c1900).
Another of his daughters married Charlie Yates the Guiseley auctioneer, his son John F Yates took over the business when Charlie died.

The young girl (right front) was my mother, Marian Roberts who lived at 22 Moorland Crescent. She married Eric Lee of Yeadon in 1942 and moved to Yeadon in 1947. I have a copy of the original photograph, and on the back Marian has written circa 1936, which would have made her 16 at the time it was taken. She died at the age of 84 in 2004.
