Comment This chapel was built in 1883, on Oxford Road, (previously known as Stephenson’s Lane), the architect was G Foggit of Yeadon. It was opened on February 21st 1884, by the Rev. I Stocks, the first baptism took place on May 18th 1884, when 5 men and 5 women were baptised, the first marriage was that of Annie White of Springfield House, on October 13th 1894. The gates and railings were removed in the 1940s, since then they have been replaced and the layout of the grounds altered.

Memorial stones set into the wall of the church, the left one reads:
“Laid by Joseph J Ogden, Former Superintendent”.
The central stone is inscribed:
“Laid by James Maston, Former Superintendent”.
The stone on the right has:
“Laid in Memory of Mrs Atkinson, Widow of J F Walsh”.

Whilst engaged on the restoration of Guiseley Wells 1999-2000, the Baptist Minister, informed the Baptism Bath under the floor was charged with water transported from the Wells to facilitate full immersion blessing, this necessary as there was indifferent or non supply from Guiseley waterworks.
