Comment The annual Beer Festival was in progress, a popular event with music provided by various live bands for the 3 days of the Festival. Henshaw Lane is on the left, in the bottom left corner is the junction with Ivegate. Before the Tarn was built the site was occupied by another public house, the Commercial which was demolished in 1962 and replaced by the Tarn. Donated by Edwy Harling.

To the left of the public house cars are turning from Henshaw Lane onto Harper Lane. Unfortunately the Tarn has suffered the fate of many local pubs, in the last months it has had several changes of management / landlords and is currently closed (October 1st 2015)

29th February 2016: The former Tarn public house closed in 2015 and is now being converted into a Mediterranean restaurant.

The Commercial Inn was once on this site, dating from at least 1853, it was demolished in 1962 and the Tarn built on the land.
