Comment The entrance to what was Eddie Denison’s Westfield Mill, it was built in 1888 and now houses various businesses. On the left is Homebase DIY store which is due to close in summer 2016, the site has been sold to the Aldi grocery chain. Donated Phil Walker.

In view are two old petrol pumps and a well on land which was / is part of Westfield Mill on Kirk Lane.

Looking across from the Haworth Lane area, in the foreground is an area of cleared land where buildings have been demolished.
On the left the road is Kirk Lane, the Temperance Hall is at the edge, next is Westfield Mill and on the right Manor Mill.
Manor Lane runs past the mill into the middle of the view.
Westfield Mill had been built in 1888 by Edward Denison, it was one of the woollen mills which was served by the Yeadon branch railway line, making the movement of goods faster and more efficient.
The mill is now partly demolished, a DIY store Texas then Homebase was on this part of the site, the remainder of the mill is used as industrial units.

Over the wall is the rear view of the Temperance Hall now a dance academy and beauty school. Far left you can just see part of Howarth Court and a bit of Old Howarth Lane. Middle right are the flats on Well Hill and the side view of the old Robin Pub ( now the Tut and Shive ).
