The goods line opened in 1894, a few passenger trains were operated at holiday times.
Yeadon station was demolished in 1966, the bridge which carried the line over Henshaw Lane was pulled down in March 1969.
The redundant track bed was designated as a footpath and cycle way 1.5km long from Parklands View in Yeadon, passing under bridges and through cuttings (including a bridge over Otley Road A65) to end at Coach Road in Guiseley.

The old Yeadon railway track bed from Whack House bridge to New Road bridge, this is now designated as a green walkway.
This track bed was once the Yeadon branch railway line, it is now a green walkway (April 2015).At this point it is crossing Milner Road towards the end of the walk.
