Comment | This branch of the Leeds Industrial Cooperative Society was on Town Hall Square, built after the alterations to the square in 1928. In the right window a notice exhorts people to “Eat more Salmon – Buy a half pound tin – Do it Now!” In 1967 the building was converted into a library opening in 1968. |

On the left is a poster advertising events in the Peoples Hall, Albion Street, Leeds, the headquarters of the L.I.C.S. Three shop assistants pose in the doorway.

The Leeds Co-op building went round the corner on the left and was occupied by Leed’s Co-op Butchers.
