School hockey team, this image was donated by Tony Watkinson, his message reads “Marion Bewick my auntie 2nd from the right on the back row. Marion, with my mother Dorothy Margaret Bewick (also a pupil at AGS), lived at Chevin Rise, West Chevin Road, Otley, with their elder brother William who went to Ilkley Grammar School. He served in World War I, and his diary and photos are in Otley Museum, currently featured in their exhibition on WWI. Their parents were John and Helena Bewick, John, originally from Whitehaven in Cumberland, became Headmaster for many years of Westgate School, Otley. Subsequently Marion, who never married, became a teacher and also taught at Westgate School. My mother also became a teacher until her marriage to my father,

I’m afraid that I do not have any more information about the other girls in the photo”
