Post Office & Staff – c1906

Post Office & Staff c1906

Title Post Office & Staff
Date c1906
Location Guiseley
Photo ID E388
Comment The information with this image points out that the letter box is marked ER suggesting that this photo was taken during the reign of King Edward VII (1901-1910). The only person to be identified is Arthur Frankland, who is 2nd on the left, he was in charge of the Post Office, the present Post Office is still in it’s original position. He and his wife also owned the Café Royal. It is possible that the 2 women were members of the Morrell family, Polly Morrell served in the Post Office until the 1950s. One of the women may have been Miss Mary Whitaker who was also Post Mistress during this period.
