Comment Rector of Guiseley, in 1810, then Captain Clark, he fought a duel on Wimbledon Common in defence of his sisters honour. She had been seduced by a married man, Mr Payne. Clark mortally wounded Mr Payne but no proceedings were taken against him. He became a doctor of medicine and then took Holy Orders, most of the time he was Rector of St. Oswald’s the Parish was left in the hands of his curates, he was not well thought of in Guiseley.
