| Comment | Novia Farm Carlton, one notable resident was Hannah Green, the ‘Ling Bob’ Witch. Whatever powers the lady did possess they made her a profitable living. Her daughter had the same name, she ran a Dame School and lived on Penny Fool Hill (Albert Square) Not as successful as her mother she still persuaded the foolish to part with their coins, hence the name “Penny Fool Hill”. |

As a child I and my friends used to walk across Yeadon banks to play on the rocks on chevin and many times we would call at the farm house and ask for a drink of water which was duly produced by the farmers wife.
