The donor of these photos, Kathryn Sutton told us her aunt Mildred thought they were taken in 1924 & 1947 on record as one of the worst winters but Kathryn thinks they may be a little earlier. During the winters of 1939 – 1941 there were heavy falls of snow.

The group of people snow clearing included at the back, 3rd from the right Mary Skelton nee Stevenson, also on this row is Barbara Marshall nee Stevenson, both daughters of Robert L Stevenson. On the right with a shovel over his shoulder is Brian Stevenson. At the front are Howard Stevenson and Mildred Ullock.
