Editor’s Note: Abbey Stores was located on the Otley Road where Olivers Tapas Bar is now located and they were a grocers and provison stores. They were taken over sometime in the 1960s by Thrift Stores who were a chain of grocers shops in Leeds. Information supplied by Philip Archdale. Ed. JB. 19 January 2024.

Margaret Adamson. I can remember shopping there with my mum. They had biscuits in large boxes with hinged lids on and you could choose the ones you wanted. I think it was next door to where Tony Woods butchers is.
