Comment | Chemist and Optician on Otley Road (A65) which was the business of J F Usher, a steam road roller is in front of the shop. Mr Usher lived in Rawdon, when he retired the shop was extended into premises to the right which had been Bedford Bakers, this is now Cohens Chemist (February 2013). |

Mr Usher lived in the house attached to the blacksmith’s shop at the top of Warm Lane/Apperley Lane, Nether Yeadon.

J F Usher was Mr John F Usher who retired with Mrs Usher to a house on Netherfield Rd, their home having been demolished when the land was cleared to make way for Guiseley Clinic and Parkinson’s Homes. The Mr Usher who lived with his wife Margaret at the top of Warm Lane, was his son Alan.
