Wendy Wools – 1980s

Wendy Wools Formula 2 sponsored racing car which was entered in races round the country. At one point the driver was Mark Thatcher, son of Margaret Thatcher the PM. The company chauffeur Bill Shears would take a hospitality caravan to the race meetings.

Wendy Wools were owned by Carter & Parker, their initials are on the gate of the mill on Netherfield Road. The business is now owned by the Thomas B Ramsden group (May 2017).
