Painting of Tythe Barn

Painting of Tythe Barn Undated
Title Tythe Barn
Date Undated
Location Guiseley
Photo ID C052
Comment “The Tythe Barn belonging to Guiseley Rectory was built by the Rev. James Willoughby who was Rector of Guiseley from 1772 to 1816. It was partially destroyed by fire in 1973, considered to be in a dangerous condition, and too expensive to repair and so it was demolished. The land was sold for development and now in 1978 houses are being built on the site. The photograph was taken by Mr. Winpenny of Otley of a painting done by the late Rowland Sample”

Consolidated by Jack Brayshaw. 29 April 2022.
