Comment | William Myers was born around 1800, he was a market gardener, as a young man he was trained at Manningham Park (Lister Park) Bradford. He and his family lived on Carlton Lane in a house called Ivy Cottage where he had a field to grow crops in. Later, the family moved to Back Lane then White Cross. One of their sons was James Myers a well know local Methodist preacher. Editor’s Note: This is a strange image, a type that I have not come across before. It can clearly be seen that the facial images of William and Anne are super-imposed onto pre produced artists bodies, somewhat like novelty images you had at the seaside during the 1920s to 1950s, where you would place your head through the appropriate hole and have your picture taken on a novelty body, not to say that these are novelty bodies in this image. Can anyone throw further light on this unusual photograph? Please contact AHS at Yeadon Town Hall. Jack Brayshaw, 27 July 2022. |
