Comment | Charles Edward Stansfield who was a master at the Friends School 1887-1889. |
Charles Edward Stansfield was born in Bradford (7th July 1856). Aged fifteen, he was attending the Friends Boys’ School in York and later studied French and German at London University. He married Martha Bennett in 1896. After his time in Rawdon he moved to Reading and became an educational secretary for a religious society. Given his education history and the fact that his father had been an accountant with The Friends Provident Institute, it would seem logical that he remained within the Quaker family. He died in Reading in 1945.
