Plaque on the allotment site which reads “To the Glory of God and the Valour of Great Britain in the Sacred Cause of Peace and Freedom, these Victory Garden Allotments were presented to the Rawdon Urban District Council on the 20th day of September 1919 for the benefit of the Residents of Rawdon by Sir John Arthur Godwin Kt JP, whose family made their home in Rawdon for Four Succeeding Generations.
