The Tarn was built on approximately the site of a previous pub called the Commercial, built around 1853 it closed in 1962. The Tarn closed c2015 and was converted into an Italian restaurant initially called The Moon & Sixpence, this was changed to the Amalfi and is now called Il Piacere.

The annual Beer Festival was in progress, a popular event with music provided by various live bands for the 3 days of the Festival. Henshaw Lane is on the left, in the bottom left corner is the junction with Ivegate.
Before the Tarn was built the site was occupied by another public house, the Commercial which was demolished in 1962 and replaced by the Tarn.
