There are two ladies on this photo named Beevers, they are mother and daughter.
The Lady with the spectacles, fourth from the left in the second row is Rosehannah Beevers my Maternal Grandmother.
The lady in the back row sixth from the right is Josephine Beevers, (Josie ) my aunt, and youngest daughter of Rosehannah.( Rose ).
Rose was president of the ladies section at one time in the fifties, and Josie was the Standard Bearer. I can remember my Gran looking resplendent in her Ceremonial regalia with a Blue Sash, a large Brooch and a Legion Berry with Badge..
In 1953 a Coronation Party was held in the Legion Hut, which, if I remember correctly, was on waste land adjacent to the graveyard wall at the end of Harper Terrace.
My brother and I duly attended, My Gran and my mum and aunt Josie, my big sister and all the other mums and Legion ladies laid on a memorable party for us kids, I was 6 at the time and my brother was 8. I remember we were given Coronation Mugs as souvenirs.
Was anyone else at that Party?
