Comment | Maple Terrace is the street on the left with Kirk Lane going up towards the centre of Yeadon. This area was often referred to as “Swaine Hill” although Swaine Hill Street, Crescent and Terrace were further up Kirk Lane nearer to the town. A group of children pose under a gas lamp, Yeadon Town Hall can be seen in the distance. |

The family of Edward and Louisa Kitchen lived here between about 1900 and 1930. Any info that people may have would be appreciated. They were my great grandparents.

I lived at number 14 then at 1A from 1940 to 1965. Great set of neighbours. I remember the Fairweather’s, Preston’s, Layton’s, and many more. I remember there was a bakery at the bottom of the street, now a Music Shop. It was just a dirt street so we could dig holes in it to play marbles. No one used to lock their door as there was no need. All good memories.
