Comment | The Golden Wedding portrait of Mr and Mrs Anderson. They had a card noiling business, noils are short lengths of fibre (wool, cotton or silk), the cards are devices which untangled the fibres, removing dust and foreign bodies. The fibres were used in textile manufacture. |
Married on May 11th, 1884 at Bethesda Chapel, Armley. Jacob was living at Hill Top and Eliza at Wasp Nest – both Armley.
Jacob Smith Anderson 1860 – 1937, Born in Armley, son of Mary and bootmaker Benjamin.
Eliza Anderson (nee Garnett) 1860 – 1949, Born in Armley, daughter of Sarah Ann and Samuel a tanner. Her address at death was West View, New Scarboro’ – the family home for decades.
