Girt, Bob (Deceased) – 2012

Bob was the son of Robert John Girt and Mabel Enid Louise, apart from serving in the Army during the 2nd World War he spent his life in Yeadon.
By profession he was a builder and constructed their own home for wife Joyce and their two sons.
Bob and Joyce loved dancing and continued to dance until a few weeks before Bob’s final illness.
They were members of Aireborough Historical Society for many years, Bob’s knowledge of Aireborough’s past was phenomenal and the importance of the contribution he made to the Society’s archive cannot be exaggerated.
A kind, courteous man with a gentle manner and a sharp wit, he died after a short illness aged 92 in 2012.
