The Regent Hotel was built to accommodate passengers using the Guiseley railway station but when the line was laid it was found that the gradient behind the hotel was too steep and the station was built a little further down the line.
The present Station Hotel was originally called the Fountain Inn. The name was changed when the station was built.
The hanging sign at the Regent Hotel depicts the Prince Regent who became King George IV.
Moving right towards Greenbottom are “Talons” nail salon, Yass hairdresser, Bellisima beauty treatments, Windsors kitchens, a pizza outlet and Coopers bar on the right.
This building was a Co-operative store, the upper floor was a popular venue for social events and funeral teas.
Traffic is queuing to go through traffic lights at the junction with Greenbottom.

Bathroom and kitchen showrooms. The building was erected as Guiseley Picture Palace in 1913 by Mr Runnyman who also played the piano and created sound effects for the silent films.
The land had previously been used as a fairground. Before the cinema was built, picture shows were held in the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel off Town Street.
