On the left is a butchers shop, a notice states “Baker Butcher”, Baker perhaps the name of the proprietor? Next door William Walmsley’s print shop.

G E S Eve, General Store – c1950s

Situated on the Green the General store which was the business of Gerald E S Eve who was the uncle of the donor of the photo Lynda Keith. On the left of the shop is St. Oswald’s School, to the right is Grove Terrace.
