Bradford Road – 2003
The donor of this photo Charles North gave the following description:
“An overgrown strip of land which stretched from the White Cross Hotel’s stone outbuilding on the right and along Bradford Road to Magnet’s car park. This land was for many years occupied by a company selling greenhouses and for a few years before becoming derelict was used by a second hand car dealership.
The length of time it then remained vacant can be judged by the size of the invading saplings! The White Cross Hotel car park was to the other side of the overgrown hedge.
It is now a car park for the White Cross Hotel and a small row of shops (May 2015)”.
The lady in the photograph is Margaret Baldwin auntie of Ema Gilks who spotted her from our facebook entry.
