Netherfield Road – 2012

A poignant remnant of the past, a wrought iron gate which bears the initials of Carter and Parker who owned this factory site on Netherfield Road.
In addition to the initials “C P” the gate has the company product name “Wendy Wools” on it.
It is said that a child belonging to one of the company founders adored the story of Peter Pan and suggested the name “Wendy Wools” in honour of the heroine of J M Barrie’s book.
