A family portrait of Jim Lupton & his mother. There was a teacher called Jim Lupton at St. Oswald’s School. (A Jim Lupton was born 1916 in the Wharfedale District)

Jim (1915 – 1985) and Gilbert were brothers and the sons of Seth Lupton and Ethel Young who married in August 1910 at Yeadon St. John’s. Seth was a dyer and their first family home was Derby Road in Rawdon. He died in 1947, their mother in 1946, from tuberculosis.

Mrs Hardy, of 3 West End Terrace, Guisley.
She was the aunt of John Hobson (whose archive and photographs have come from). He maiden name was Alice Yeadon & had two sisters, Honora (Nora) & Mary who married Ronnie Hobson & had John, Kay & Paul. (All the data for W555 – W575 are provided by Christine Roberts from the Hobson Archive.)
