I remember Wilf when I was a teenager, he worked with my father after WWII, they worked for the council on the maintenance team. I remember that he had a girlfriend in Scotland, and at Christmas he used to say to me if I give you the money will you buy a gift for her. I worked at Lewis’s at the time and I bought some lovely things very feminine and he was always pleased. The secret is out but it is a lovely memory.
