Comment | The location is a bench under the wall of St. Oswald’s Church opposite the Red Lion Inn. Seated on the bench are a group of men who enjoyed a pint or two in the local watering holes! On the left is Noah Preston, next his father Tom Preston. Tom’s children were: Alice Town (nee Preston) she was the elder daughter and lived on Westfield Grove. Joe Preston of Swain Hill, the elder son. Noah Preston of Henshaw Avenue Yeadon, the younger son. Millie Triffit (Nee Preston) of Moorland Crescent, Guiseley, the younger daughter. Tom Preston was the maternal grandfather of the donor of the image Brian Triffit, his mother was Millie Triffit. |

The pair are seated on a bench under the wall of St. Oswald’s Church.
One of Tom’s brothers was Raymond Preston, the Yeadon evangelist preacher.
Tom would say of him “If our Raymond can’t sup his ale then he’s no brother of mine”.
