Late 1970s: In the middle of the group is Maurice Lee a member of the comedy band the Grumbleweeds.

The band were formed in Leeds in 1962, they appeared on the talent show “Opportunity Knocks” and then turned professional.

In the 1970s/80s they were very popular, some members of the band have changed but the group still tour.

Also named but in no order are :

Andrew Gamble, Robert Hudson, Deborah Siswick, Mrs Bowland, Mrs Denbigh and Matthew Clark. Maurice had obviously helped the nursery in some way but what he had done has not been recorded with the photo.

Re P546
Barbara Horwood
I went to Guiseley School back in the 1950s, it does not seem long ago. I loved every day I spent, I cried the day I left to start to work.
Mr Bowers was head then and he asked me why I was crying and I said I don’t want to leave. My son and daughter went as well.
Miss Allen was the Teacher then. We left in 1969 to go to Australia. I have been home 5 times and still miss it a lot.
I would love to get in touch with old friends Barbara Horwood maiden name Young.
