November 1909, work began constructing a new nave, when the floor was excavated a number of stone coffins were discovered which were thought to belong to the De Warde family who were Lords of the Manor of Guiseley in early Medieval times.

By March 1909, foundations for a new North wall are being dug.

By May 1909, workmen are placing a new lintel over the West door.

By September 1910, work was underway to build an extension to the North aisle. Canon Howson was responsible for the church extension and restoration of the old Rectory.
