“Blanket washing day” when the weather was warm enough to dry them in summer, taking a break from what would have been hard physical work are Winifred and her mother Martha Hattersley. The location is Markham Avenue.

Jean Dean (Nee Luty) is the baby on the left, her mum Mrs W Luty is next.
Miss Louie Teal is wearing the check patterned dress, her sister Mrs M Ingleson is on her right.
The woman on the extreme right is unknown, the photo was taken in Blackpool.
At this time Jean and her family were living in Rawdon.
