Comment | The Reverend Samuel Marsden sent the first wool from Australia to his nephew in Leeds who thought it was too dirty for manufacture. It was bought by William Thompson a cloth manufacturer of Park Mill, Rawdon. This was the beginning of the Australian Wool Trade. 23 July 1764 |
