The donor of this photo Val Ryan tells us the purpose of the celebration is unknown. She comments, “It was obviously quite an important event as they are wearing flowers and the table is beautifully laid with all the best silver. The lady on the far left has also got a large bouquet. Note the way the ladies are nearly all wearing aprons (pinnies) to protect their Sunday best dresses.

The location of this is at the Rawdon Cricket Club grounds, the donor of the photo, Val Ryan told us her mum is 3rd from the left on the back row, her granny is next to her, 4th left. Val thinks the occasion was probably connected to the Church Institute on Town Street.
