Avro Anson in front of the terminal building with the control tower on the roof in 1959. The terminal building was originally the Yorkshire Airplane Club clubhouse finished just before WW2.

Blackburn Beverly XL149 242OCU and Blackburn Monoplane photographed together at Yeadon Air Display in 1959. The Monoplane was built in Leeds in 1912 is the oldest aircraft in the world with its original engine capable of flying a full circuit.

Avro Vulcan XA901 performed a ‘Touch & Go’ just touching the runway momentarily at the 1960 Yeadon Air Display. Spectacular and the sound was unbelievable!

British Midland Dakota G-ANTD,  The plane belly landed on runway works due to brake failure.

The white building in the centre of the picture was the Aero Club and is where my wife and I had our wedding reception in June 1958.
During the reception. the fog came down and closed the airport and 6 of us were taken to Squires Gate Airport at Blackpool to fly us to the Isle of Man.

The hangers on the left hand side is where we stood waiting for our flight in 1966, it was November and quite chilly.
