Comment Greaves old plumbers shop, at Christmas time the shop window would be decorated with a wonderful tableau which was lit at night. It was a beacon of light at a time (1970s/80s) before the outdoor decorations people display now were fashionable. Photographer John Arundel.

My dad, Arthur Hardisty, worked for FWG in the 50s and early 60s. I remember Harry, Billy and Young Harry and also Gordon Driver and Lesley Appleyard who worked for the firm. Harry Ingram, with his raised shoe, ran the office. They did the plumbing on Greenacre Park where we lived.

Comments from our facebook page 23rd July 2015:-
Irene Ellis: My father did his plumbing apprenticeship at Greaves before moving to Yeadon Waterboard. Greaves also did the plumbing on the houses on Barfield.

David Wooler: The Transit Pick-up they had was ancient, but immaculate. Had them round to do those little jobs, that a local company now would charge you £50 just to come and look at.

Trevor King: Remember Frank and Harry Greaves who ran this. The shop always smelt of linseed oil from the putty.

Christine Hathaway Phillips: It was like that when my Sister were little in the 60s, we used to go look at it all the time. Greaves Brothers had it.
Trevor King was father and son Christine, Harry was Franks dad and quite often wore a black fedora hat.

Paul Deal: Remember it well.

Eileen Cooper: I also remember it well.
