In the 1891 Census, my Great Grandfather, John Scott, was the owner of the Albert Inn. His wife Emma Kirk had died in 1889. Her Father, John Kirk, had been the owner of the Pick & Hammer Inn in Carlton. From what I understand, after John Kirk died in 1882, the Pick & Hammer was torn down and material from it was used to build the Albert Inn.
In the 1901 census, John Scott was now the owner of the Red Bear Inn on Skinner Lane in Leeds.
