Comment | Images 1 and 2: A poster advertising the event and a card with 2 stamps, this was the work of Lorna Caine. For many years she was a volunteer at the Oxfam shop on the High Street, stamps which had been donated were sorted and packaged on the cards to sell on Carnival day. |

Parked outside the Liberal Club is a steam roller and wagon which belonged to D Wood and Co. Ltd. Road Contractors of Yeadon.

The steam roller was built by John Fowler and Company in Leeds in 1921. His works were on Cancel Street, Hunslet.
It was a Class DN No: 15589 and registration No: U-8709. It had a single cylinder engine. The steam roller was named Hilda.
