Harry Baker – c1900/20
The donor of these two photos, David Charles, told us his grandmother Eliza Ann Atkinson worked as a domestic servant for the Baker family on their farm.
This would have been around 1900 – 1920, one of her duties was the care of Harry Baker who had a leg infirmity.
Eliza was happy working on the farm, the Bakers were kind employers and looked after her.
When she had a family of her own they still gave her work even though to come to Guiseley Eliza had to walk from Pepper Road, Hunslet, Leeds, with her two children.

Harry Baker’s wedding, he married Doris in the 1920s. Image F621 David thinks this is his grandmother Eliza Ann with a young Harry Baker.
