* Re 1418-Luty, Luty, Luty.
Karen Carrington
I have further information regarding the ‘Luty’ brothers on this post, who were all my 2nd cousins twice removed. Alfred and Martha Sophia Luty (nee Hindle) had 2 daughters, one of which died at 9 months old and 6 sons and lived at 10 Club Row, Yeadon. Lawrence Hindle Luty b.1891 d.1949 was a Private in the Seaforth Highlanders and A.O.C., Service No: 046016. Samuel Herman Luty b.1894 d.1969 was a driver in the Royal Artillery, Service No:134911. Peter Ernest Luty b.1898 d.1960 was a Private in the 12th West Yorkshire Border Regiment, Service No: 16193 and also in the 7th Border Regiment, Service No: 30493. However, there was also another brother not listed on here who was William Hindle Luty b.1895 d.1975 who started off in the R.A.F., Service No: 211902 and then was transferred to the Royal Navy, Service No: F11902, and was a Rating A.M. 2. They all survived the war and I believe their names are on the roll of honour boards in Yeadon Town Hall. Thank you.
