I was somewhere in the queue in this photo. If I remember rightly, that queue was out towards Menston.

I remember the 1952 occasion as clearly as if it was yesterday. It was the month I left school after the GCE exams. Its no exaggeration to say that the famous queue reached at least the Hare and Hounds!!

worked there there in the 60’s when Eddie Stokes owned it. It was a great place to work a happy friendly team of people of all ages.

I lived in Apperley Lane, Nether Yeadon, and the traffic was queuing all along the A65 past the junction with Apperley Lane and Green Lane (now the JCT garage site).

Almost in the centre of the foreground crowd is a man standing with his hands / thumbs in his pockets and wearing a flat cap, directly behind him is Irene Child, moving up is Judith Wood with her father Robert S Wood behind her.
