On the night of Thursday June 2nd 1977, the Rectory was broken into, keys were taken which the thief used to open the vestry safe where the plate was kept. It was all taken and has never been recovered. The large plate in the centre was made in 1641 during the reign of King Charles I.
The other items were gifts to the church.
