Comment | A message on the reverse reads: “Rufford Thurs AM. Still in the land of pains, Dr cut it out, nasty carbuncle (a carbuncle is an abscess deep in the skin tissue which forms a large infected lump) says I should be ? months before I am right so I shall have to groan a bit longer yet. Glad you are having fine weather, Percy.” It is addressed to William Stott in the Isle of Man. |
Long Stoop – Undated
Quirky view of the old marker stone at the end of Warren House Lane, here framed between a wall and a tree. To the left the wooden huts are relics of WW1 and used for a time as a cafe and to accommodate farm workers. A car can be seen on Harrogate Road.
Long Stoop – 1984
The Long Stoop in it’s present position (June 2013) at the junction of Harrogate Road and Warren House Lane. It was moved when the runway at Leeds Bradford Airport was extended. In this view road works are still taking place and the Long Stoop is being shored up.

Lovely photo of the Stoop and the top end of the cemetery in the distance where my granny and family are buried……not sure they are resting in peace with all the take off’s and landing’s!
