Comment | A double image of Knaresborough which shows the River Nidd and the railway bridge which straddles across it. The slides have deteriorated over time and have not been restored, they were intended to be viewed through a hand held stereoscope. |
E E Slater – Cayton Village, Nr. Scarborough – c1900
Evocative view of Cayton village, located a few miles South of Scarborough, it shows the village Post Office with the church of St. John the Baptist in the background. In front of the shop a leads a horse drawn hay wagon, the bottom right corner of the slide has badly deteriorated through time but the charm of the scene remains.

A glimpse of old Scarborough seen through the lens of E E Slater, the slides have not been restored and are in poor condition. The harbour is busy with boats, dogs are being walked on the beach and as always children are enjoying a paddle in the sea.
